Regenerative medicine: the state of current medicine and aesthetics
The regenerative medicine with adult stem cells is one of the major techniques of the century. Let’s know a little more about it through one of the main representatives of regenerative medicine in Spain, Dr. Nemseff, with over 25 years of experience.
What is the difference between regenerative medicine and aesthetics having into account the classical treatments?
Very simple. Regenerative therapies are aimed at tackling the problem from inside the cell. Instead of “repairing” only the damage caused by osteoarthritis, an ulcer, a wound, etc. with the tools of classical surgery, we work within the tissue to rejuvenate and restore the lost youth over the years.
Are these type of treatments safe or do they have any health hazard?
We got total safety with our regenerative medicine’s techniques, through the use of own adult stem and regenerative cells obtained and applied at the same time of the collection; a process totally opposed to the collection of embryonic cells.
Moreover, they are extracted from adipose tissue in order to avoid rejection and make use of their own “cell repair kit” present in each of us.
In principle, are the differences in breast augmentation with prosthetic or self-stem and fat cells prominent?
Indeed. In the first case, we are introducing a foreign agent within the breast. Regenerative medicine allows, through a simple liposuction, to concentrate and extract those stem and regenerative cells from fat in order to reintroduce them into the breast and get a more natural and persistent appearance.
Far from being science fiction or a current oblivious treatment, regenerative cell therapies represent a current drive, which is currently benefiting thousands of patients. Ignorance and lack of information on this technique are no longer a problem.
